There is quite a lot of aimless and boring wandering around and backtracking while not offering all that much more interactivity than Dear Esther. Together with What Remains of Edith Finch they rank high in my all time favorite and most memorable games.īut I'm going against the crowd here and do not recommend The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, especially after what you had written earlier.Įthan Carter's story is already weaker than that of Firewatch or Edith Finch, but the story telling is much worse.

I like a good, not-too-long story but not exactly walking simulators that much (I tried Night in the Woods and I can't bring myself to just walk and read the entire game) I finished it a few days ago and could honestly talk about it for hours, I was really pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this game.
